RV Cleaning & Waxing

Just bought a new MH and other half is curious about what exterior cleaning products you're really pleased with as well as what you use for a wax. Do auto product work just fine?

Ordered one from CW last night. I'll see how it does.

RE: Please suggest a red wine.

Try St. Julian's "Simply Red"; it's lightly sweet.

RE: Steering Wheel Table

I did check Camping World and was a little discomforted by the one review that said the table wasn't very stable. I may order it and try anyway.

Steering Wheel Table

I've been looking everywhere for a steering wheel table for our motorhome. I found one on-line, ordered it, and long story short they charged me and never sent it. Fortuntely it was paid for through PalPal so we lost nothing. Any suggestions where we can find one?

RE: Critters (particularly MICE)

Scented dryer sheets work only if the unit is totally sealed so critters can't get in. Sorry. We covered our unit with them and still had the fall invasion. I think they used the sheets to make their nests soft for their babies.

RE: Involuntary fulltiming surges, limit RV parking.

It's comforting to us to know that if we did face such a crisis we have a wonderful RV to fall back on. Think of those who don't even have that.

RE: We just don't understand...

I would also try to find out the reputation of the dealer. While we're totally partial to Holiday Rambler and wouldn't own anything else all RVs are traveling homes. Put your home on wheels and things will go wrong. Used units might well have additional issues. Try to find out if your dealer will be willing to help with those problems. If from a private owner - you pay no doubt.

RE: Pet things we learn the hard way!

Dogs sleep right by the door when their owners leave, waiting for their return. Cats sleep where ever the sun is and don't wish to be disturbed.

Furniture Covers

I posted this on the Class A site but it's probably better here. Has anyone been successful at finding fitted couch covers for 68" couches? We're traveling with a cat and dog and are picking up a new coach with two leather couches. We've used towels but they slip on leather and would like to get fitted. All suggestions welcome.

Furniture Covers

Has anyone found furniture covers that fit motorhome couches. Both Orvis and Bean's have covers but Orvis doesn't fit the "68" couch and Bean's seems to have a fitting issue. Any suggestions? We currently use towels on our couches but our new coach has two leather couches and we're traveling with both a cat and dog.

RE: Easy & GREAT Biscuits & Gravy

Even easier - frozen biscuits and Bob Evans sausage gravy in a pouch. It's great and believe me it's easy. If there's an easy way I'm the one to find it.

RE: Help me with my math..

If someone uses their "math brain" they'd probably never buy an RV. Life is a matter of choices and we like the "life style".

RE: Another Wal-Mart thread

I thought WalMart encouraged RVers to stop there; they have their own atlas to designate their sites. So you think it's only to buy and not stay over night? Ever been to a casino parking lot?

Blind Cat

My husband will soon retire so we'll be doing lots of traveling and will be taking our blind cat (along with our dog who is a veteran camper). I'm concerned about the cat getting behind the couch in our motorhome (40'DP). Those don't move so we could get her out. Any suggestions?

RE: 4 month old Springer pulls during walks

For fear of sounding redundant I also highly recomend the "gentle lead". Our 100 lb goldendoodle thinks everyone in the world, human or dog, is there for him. He's been known to put me flat on my face. I now use a short leash (I think it's 4') and the gentle lead system. He's a joy to walk with ---and still thinks the world's there for him.

RE: English Labs....where to do research????

We had a beautiful English lab for years - he weighed 125 lbs and was a puppy until the day he died. So much for 'common characteristics'.....

RE: A very old stray {The Old Fella Story}

If you shake meat tenderizer on the "poopcycles" the dog won't eat them. If the dog enjoys his own, put the tenderizer on his/her food. It's cheaper than the products you buy from pet stores. The problem is what the other animals eat - deer, rabbits etc. It's a challenge. The best solution with an inside cat is turn the litter box so the cat can get in but not the dog.

RE: Leftover pricing

Beware "lot rot"; when units sit they age in a totally different way. I would check EVERYTHING for rust, corrosion, dry rot etc. Make sure the dealer will give you time to discover problems.
